Carol Ann (Gaines) Handy, 73 of Wilton, NH passed away on June 29, 2018 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.
Carol was born in Turners Falls, Massachusetts on August 21, 1944 to Francis and Frances (Bruce) Gaines. She attended school in Turners Falls and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School, class of 1962. She owned and operated her own daycare center, Pooh’s Place, for 26 years. The children were her life. She provided a loving and healthy environment for these children. She recently worked for Market Basket in Milford, NH. Carol was very involved in the community Concert Association of Nashua. She was a Campaign Chairperson, Trustee & Usher.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Jeff) Loper of Nashua, NH, her daughter in law, Carla Mueller of Herndon, VA, her sister in law, Donna (Tom) Newton of Bernardston, MA and brother in law, Harry Demers, of Greenfield, Ma. She also leaves her longtime companion, Elmer Santerre of Wilton, NH. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Justin and Lauren Loper of Nashua, NH; Megan (Walter) Laspinskas of Tamecula, CA; Katie Orozco of Juneau, Alaska, and Kara Handy of Herndon, VA and her great grandchildren, Emery and Elyse Laspinskas of Tamecula, CA and many nieces and nephews. Carol was pre-deceased by her sister Elizabeth Denison of, Bernadston, Ma, and her sister-in-law Bonnie Demers.
Graveside services will be held on July 6, 2018 at 11am, at North Cemetery, Gill, MA with Reverend David Levandusky of the Living Waters Assembly of God Church officiating with a reception to following at Living Waters Assembly of God Church 450 Davis St, Greenfield, MA
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054
