Obituary for Carolyn Mary Maattala
Carolyn Mary (Lammela) Maattala, 90, of Troy, NH, passed away at Cheshire Medical Center, in Keene, NH, on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Carolyn was born on February 27, 1928, in Troy, NH, the daughter of the late Richard and Harriet (Roleau) Lammela.
Carolyn graduated from Troy High School in 1946. She worked at the Crystal Restaurant for many years, where she waited on the Rolling Stones, and was also a hostess at the Valley Green Restaurant and the Christmas Inn. More recently Carolyn was a care giver for the elderly. She retired in 1999, residing in her home until her death.
Carolyn is survived by her son, George R. Maattala, of Troy, NH, her daughter, Deborah Bankowski, of CT, her two grandsons and their spouses, and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marsha Ross, of AZ, and two nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband, George A. Maattala.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made in Carolyn’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 1-800-822-6344, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
Family and friends are warmly invited to a graveside service, at Troy Mountain View Cemetery, Highway 12, Troy, NH, 03465, on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 11am.
