Obituary for Diego Mejia
Diego Mejia of Milford, New Hampshire, passed away on September 27th, 2020. Diego passed peacefully at the age of 88, in his home with his loving wife, Cilia, and their two daughters by his side.
Diego was born on November 13, 1931 in Colombia to father Lazaro Mejia-Martinez and mother Maria Luisa Garcia. Diego was an intelligent man who was a pharmaceutical consultant prior to serving his country in the Colombian Navy. Diego was a courageous man who was known to never step down from a challenge and moved his family from Villavicencio, Colombia to Massachusetts, an unfamiliar land, for a better life. Diego worked tirelessly as a Quality Assurance Computer Inspector for Wang and Digital, successfully providing the life for his wife and daughters that he had dreamed of. Diego had a kind heart, whom never spoke ill of anyone, a smile that was contagious, and the power to infect an entire room with laughter from his witty jokes. Diego’s family will forever remember him for his passion, love, support, and his unwavering devotion to the Lord. Diego was predeceased by his son, Diego Andres Mejia in1988.
Diego is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Cilia Mejia; daughters, Monica Roy, married to Steve Roy, and Constanza E. Richards; grandchildren, James D. Richards, married to Christina Richards, Morgan Richards, Celine Roy, Isabel Roy, and Gabriella Roy.
Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend calling hours at the Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple Street, Wilton, NH, on Wednesday, September 30,2020 from 3pm – 7pm. A celebration of Diego’s life will start at 7 pm following calling hours. We ask that everyone please wear masks and gloves and to follow all social distancing measures in and around the funeral home.
