Obituary for Estelle "Marie" Morneau
Estelle Morneau, 96, of Greenville, passed into the arms of our Lord on Thursday June 7, 2018, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born the eldest child of three on May 6, 1922, to Bonaventure and Hermine (Lizotte) Godin, of Greenville. She was born and lived her entire life in Greenville. Estelle was educated at the Sacred Heart School in Greenville and then went on to graduate from the Pensionnat de Nicolet convent school in Nicolet, Quebec, Canada. She married the love of her life, Yves N. Morneau, on July 11, 1942, and raised a family of four children. She worked at the New Hampshire Ball Bearing company in Peterborough until her retirement in 1984.
Estelle was dedicated to her family and had a witty sense of humor. She was a kind, gracious and generous soul. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a faithful congregant of the Sacred Heart church in Greenville and was involved in several church activities. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years, and she and her husband were active members of the Knights of Columbus. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, sewing, reading, dancing and going for walks. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and vacationing in Maine and Florida.
Estelle was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, and a great-grandson, Tyler N. Scroggins. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She leaves behind 3 sons, Lionel and Dennis, both of Northport, FL, and Keith, of Greenville; a daughter, Bernadette Cooke, of Keene; several grandchildren, Scott and Mark Morneau, Jessica Scroggins, Aaron Cooke, and Joelle Vanderhoof; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are warmly welcome to a service that will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 11am, at Sacred Heart Church, in Greenville, NH, followed by a graveside service at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Ipswich, NH.
