Obituary for Linda Gaffey
Linda Mae Foster (Edwards) Gaffey, 74, of Keene, NH, passed away at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH, on Thursday, March 7, 2019. She was born on October 3, 1944, in Peterborough, NH, the daughter of Franklin Edwards and Evelyn (Kearns) Edwards.
Linda graduated from Wilton High School in 1962, then attended Moore General Hospital College for nursing in Goffstown, NH, where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1965. Most recently she worked as a nurse at Brookside Healthcare Center in Nashua, NH, specializing in psychiatric care. She married Philip Arnold Foster on February 26, 1966. They raised their family together until his death on June 22, 1985. Linda married Eugene Gaffey on January 4, 2003. Eugene passed away on March 27, 2018. Linda played the trumpet in many marching bands, including the Temple Marching Band, and the Keene Legion Band. She shared her love of marching bands with both of her late husbands. She was a former member of the Stars, of Milford, NH, and was the Old Home Days Coordinator for the Town of Wilton, NH, for multiple years. Her family was very important and dear to her.
Linda is survived by her son, Sergeant Major (Ret.) Timothy A. Foster and his wife, Danna Foster, of Dahlonega, GA; her daughter, Stephanie Gilbert and her husband, Dennis Gilbert, Jr., of Wilton, NH; her sisters, Geraldine Sue McQuade, of Washington, NH, and Claire Berwick and her husband, Andrew Berwick, of Milford, NH; her grandchildren, Nicholas Foster and his wife, Mariah, of Kent, WA, Colin Foster, of Dahlonega, GA, Jeremy Gilbert, of Wilton, NH, and Kelly Wesoly and her husband, Derek Wesoly, of Peterborough, NH. She is predeceased by her former husbands, Philip Arnold Foster and Eugene Gaffey.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Linda's name to Kurn Hattin Homes, PO Box 127, Westminster, VT, 05158.
Family and friends are warmly welcome to calling hours on Saturday, March 9, 2019, from 1pm-5pm, at the Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple St, Wilton, NH, 03086. There will be a spring burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Abbott Hill Road, Wilton, NH, on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 1pm.
