Obituary for Mildred Vantassell
Mildred Jean Vantassell, 95, of Westmoreland, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Maplewood Nursing Home, in Westmoreland, NH. Mildred was born on April 10, 1923, in Franklin, VT, the daughter of Henry and Julie (Goodhue) Lacross.

Mildred lived in Sheldon, VT, for many years and worked at the hospital in Brattleboro, VT. She married Alton Montgomery and lived in Hinsdale, NH, where they raised their family. Later, she married Wallace Vantassell and moved to Greenville, NH. After 20 years of marriage, Wallace passed away in 1999. Mildred was loved by her family. She had a passion for horses and loved to ride them. She also raised and trained them. Mildred enjoyed to cook. She loved the holidays and spending time with family.

Mildred is survived by her sons, Richard Montgomery and his wife Christine, of Hinsdale, NH, and Gary Montgomery and his wife Christine, of Chesterfield, NH; her daughter, Sally Bennett and her husband Thomas, of Kylean, TX; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Carmen Tupper.
