MASON, NH – Pamela Jean McGinnity, age 66, passed away on November 4, 2023 at home under hospice care with her husband by her side.
She was the daughter of the late Lawrence R. Smith and the late Marjorie (Fletcher) Smith of Westford, Massachusetts.
Pam was born in Lowell, Massachusetts and grew up in Westford, Massachusetts. Pam was a graduate of Westford Academy, class of 1975. Pam also attended the Burdett School in Boston with a degree in Merchandising, graduating in June of 1976.
Pam married R. Peter McGinnity in September of 1980 and proceeded to have an exciting first 20 years of marriage traveling and living in multiple states including Ohio, New York, Georgia, Arizona, New Jersey, and Maine. They both settled into their final home in Mason, NH where they have lived for over 20 years.
Pam was an accomplished recruiter, placing people in a variety of jobs from secretarial to nuclear scientists for the Federal Government. Pam’s latest position before retirement was placing people in the National Passport Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Pam was a talented crafter and was a master sewer, creating table runners, placemats, potholders, baby blankets, baby booties and clothes just to name a few. Pam’s latest love was instructing younger people how to sew. Pam loved her star pupil Kristina Javara.
Pam was involved in several volunteer efforts over the years including Displaced Homemakers and the Vestry in the Episcopal Church. Her latest volunteer efforts have centered around committees in Mason, NH. Pam was on the Trustees of the Trust Fund committee and the Town Hall Renovation committee. Pam was passionate about raising money through fundraisers for the Mason Town Hall.
She is predeceased by her sister Cynthia Louise Smith. She leaves her loving husband R. Peter McGinnity, her two brothers Brian Smith and Dean Smith and his wife Dori. Her nephew Ian Smith and his wife Kristen and Niece’s Paige Smith and Cortney Maynard. As well many cousins including her Canadian Cousins, Donna Hawco and her husband Bill, Sandra, Allen etc.
Family and friends are warmly welcomed to attend a funeral service at the Mason Congregational Church, 33 Valley Rd, Mason, NH 03048 on Friday November 17, 2023 at 11am. A burial will follow at the Pratt Annex Cemetery in Mason.
In lieu of flowers donations are requested to either the Mason Town Hall Renovation Committee, 16 Darling Hill Road, Mason NH or Home Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
