Robert A. Fasanella, 65, of New Ipswich, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday January 6, 2024. He was born October 16, 1958, in New Haven, Connecticut, to parents Rocko and Marion (Henry) Fasanella.
Following completion of his Juris Doctorate at Vermont Law School, Robert started his own law firm with offices in Boston and New Bedford, Massachusetts. He then worked as a partner at Rubin and Rudman law firm in Boston, specializing in environmental and land use law. He was dedicated to the firm and his clients' success, providing sound and bespoke legal counsel for over 20 years.
Robert was also the fourth-generation owner of Henry Hill Farm in Howes Cave, New York. Originally a dairy farm, he redeveloped it into a tree farm and event space, undertaking impressive restorations of the barn, fields, and wetlands. He spent many summers at the farm during his youth working alongside his grandparents, uncles and aunts, and cousins.
Robert was an all-seasons outdoorsman. He enjoyed skiing, windsurfing, biking, hiking, tennis, and as a child participated in swimming and soccer. He was an avid Duke basketball fan, as this was his Alma Mater.
He is survived by his loving wife Abigail (Crump) Fasanella of New Ipswich, NH; his daughter Cecily Fasanella of Washington DC; his sisters Marion Petrelli and her husband Richard of CT, Annie Fasanella of CT, Katherine Fasanella of FL; his nieces and nephew Elizabeth Petrelli Elesh of NY, Conor McCarthy of NY, Courtney McCarthy of NY. He was predeceased by his brothers George and Paul Fasanella.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In memory of Robert, donations can be made to the Appalachian Mountain Club via their website, www.outdoors.org/donate/tribute-gifts.
