Sandra S. (Kasper) Dunbar, 74, of Essex, CT and Wilton, NH, passed away April 12, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born on December 17, 1942 in Middletown, CT to the late Nellie Hine Kasper Watson and Edward Kasper. She spent her childhood in Hammonasset with her parents, Ronald & Nellie Watson and sister, Shirley Watson Handy. Sandy leaves her daughters and son-in-law, Tracie & Gregg Bensmiller of Wilton, NH, Tammie Dunbar of Haddam, CT, and Teri Dunbar of Nashua, NH; her precious grandchildren, Ashley Bensmiller of Peterborough, NH, Nicholas Bensmiller of New York City, and Matthew Bensmiller of Wilton, NH; her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley "Sis" and Ray Handy of Clinton, CT, and her nephew and family, Eric, Cheryl, and Olivia Handy of Portland, CT. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her nephew, Christopher Handy. Also, her buddies, Jake and Angel, who were always by her side. Sandy was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Her smile and blue eyes could warm anyone's heart. She was a school volunteer, Brownie and Girl Scout leader, EMT with Essex Ambulance, waitress at The Essex Junction, housekeeper, and finally a Dietary Aide at Essex Meadows. She loved to color and paint, especially birdhouses, on her trips to Lake George with her cherished friend, Linda Rathbun, who passed before her. Sandy's family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Ledgewood Bay staff and St. Joseph's Hospital ER staff for their wonderful care of our mother and her family.
