Stephen B. Parsons, 72, of Wilton, NH, passed away on August 7, 2023. He was born, April 13, 1951, to Roy D. Parsons and Doris (Buzzell) Parsons in Presque Isle, Maine. He married Karen (Longo) Parsons in 1984.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he joined the Boston and Maine Railroad as a locomotive engineer in June of 1970 and spent the next 42 years on both passenger and freight trains. He served in the US Army National Guard from 1970 to 1974.
Throughout the years, Steve and Karen adopted 5 children through the New Hampshire foster care system, of which they spent 41 years as ISO Specialized Foster parents. Known for his immense love of children and animals alike, his sense of humor was prevalent right up until the end of his journey. Steve enjoyed camping with friends and family, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family and friends – preferably by his pool.
Steve is survived by his wife Karen Parsons of Wilton, NH, his children Nicole Parsons of Nashua, NH, Renee (Parsons) Carbone and her husband Dan of Townsend, MA, Joe Parsons and his wife Alyssa of Chester, NH, Anna Parsons and her partner Andrew Stiling of Ayer, MA, Matthew Parsons and his wife Katlyn, of Manchester, NH, Stephen Parsons Jr. of Wilton, NH, Alea Parsons of Wilton, NH and six grandchildren. Steve also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and close family friends.
He is preceded in death by son Joshua Parsons and by his siblings, Robert G. Parsons, Gloria J. Boutin and John Parsons.
As per the wishes of the deceased, services will be private.
