Architect, Stephen Douglas Wojcik, 83, died peacefully at home on April 16, 2022, after a long battle with prostate cancer surrounded by his loving family.
Steve was born on August 13, 1938 in Lowell, MA a son of the late Julian and Anne (Kovalchek) Wojcik. He graduated Westford Academy and went on to attend Boston Architectural Center graduating in 1959 and becoming a licensed architect in MA (1971) and NH (1973) using his skills to design commercial and residential structures and space for others to enjoy as an accredited member of the Architectural Institute of America. Steve always made time for the many friends that would stop by his office. He was active supporting the communities in which he lived, including serving on the Chelmsford Planning Board and volunteering regularly at churches to support those in need. Steve enjoyed fishing, playing softball, photography, art and watching the Patriots and Red Sox on TV. You could catch him using his creativity to sketch a scene of his surroundings and making detailed models of his designs.
As a beloved father he raised his family in Chelmsford, MA with his former and late wife Regina Wojcik. He is survived by two sons, Stephen D. Wojcik II and his wife Pamela of Westford, MA and John J. Wojcik and his fiancé Susan Mardigian of Chelmsford, MA, and two daughters, Donna M. Wojcik of New Ipswich, NH and Susan L. Zimmerman and her husband Norman of Jasper, GA and six grandchildren, Brandon Wojcik-Tremblay, Kassi Berman, Ashley Ashmead, Brooke Broderick, Stephen D. Wojcik, III, and Cory Carter. He is also brother to Michael Wojcik of Lewes, DE, Carol McDonnell of Camarillo, CA, Janice Mulligan of Watertown, MA, Marianne Genikos of Pelham, NH, Richard Wojcik of Hudson, NH, Wanda Hall of Westford, MA and a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.
