Obituary for V. Craig Dudley

V. Craig Dudley, 74, New Ipswich, died May 16th peacefully surrounded by his family. Son of LeGrand and Frances Dudley of Harlingen Texas.

Craig was passionate about science and technology, studying Electrical Engineering at Texas Tech. He was born at the cusp of the computer age and grew up with Mainframe Technology as it developed. From college he came to New England to work for Sander’s Associates. Craig was struck by the fall foliage as he got off the plane from Texas and fell in love with New England. He eventually formed his own company, consulting for Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong, Digital, and the State of NH.

Craig was entirely engaged in his children’s passions, coaching little league and soccer teams. He enjoyed participating with his children’s mountain biking and skiing, especially at Temple Mountain. He provided transport to many young racers looking to race throughout New England in the early days of mountain biking. He was a mountain bike and alpine ski referee contributing long after his children had left the sport. After his retirement he continued his interest in science and technology, was an avid reader, and enjoyed a good IPA. He enjoyed spending time with his family, most especially his granddaughter- watching her personality bud from an infant to the opinionated toddler she is today.

Craig is survived by his wife Kleta (McNulty), his son Random of New Ipswich, Catherine (m. Joshua) and his granddaughter Piper Neff of Weston, VT. Brothers Nicholas (m. Marilynn) of Harlingen, TX, Charles (m. Lorraine) of Round Rock TX, Stephen of Edinburgh, TX, Andrew (m. Shonna) of Littleton CO, and Christopher (m. Jo) of San Diego CA. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Craig was pre-deceased by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held on June 11th, Craig’s 75th birthday, at his home after 5pm. In lieu of flowers- please consider supporting the NH Food Bank or Monadnock Kitty Rescue in Jaffrey.
