Obituary for Jean G Patten
Jean G. Patten, 85, of Greenville, NH, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Monadnock Community Hospital, on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. She was born August 3, 1932, in Pepperell, MA, the daughter of William Seymour Townsend and Mary Evelyn (Marshall) Townsend.
After working at the former New England Business Services (NEBS) in Townsend for 18 years, Jean worked for many years as a private day care provider. Jean was happiest when surrounded by children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed card and board games in her spare time. Jean was also a devoted Red Sox fan. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and always looked forward to family gatherings. Jean liked to spend time tending her gardens, as well as working on crossword puzzles and word searches.
Jean is survived by her sons, Chuck Charpentier, of Winchester, VA, Kevin Patten, and his wife Arlene, of Wentworth, NH, their 3 sons, Gregory, Adam, & Joshua Patten; her great-grandchild, John Patten; and one great-granddaughter who is due in May; her daughter, Brenda J. Campbell, with whom she lived, of Greenville, NH, her estranged daughter, Mary Letourneau, of Townsend, MA, and her children, Kevin & Shane Murray; her sisters, Kathleen Rossbach, of Townsend, MA, Sheila Wyman, of Groton, MA, and Marian Charpentier, of Warrenton VA; and very close family friends, Sue Kimball, Danielle Ross, her daughter Madiana, and Roger Ross. She is predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Forrest, her brother, William Townsend, and her grandson, Timothy Murray.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering planned by her family in the spring.
