Irene Cecile Galante of Greenville, NH passed away on Monday, November 1, 2022, at the age of 75. Mrs. Galante was born in Nashua, NH on March 6, 1947, to the late Charles Eugene Duhamel and Gertrude Beaulieu Duhamel. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Roger Duhamel, and three sisters, Lucille Simoneau, Yvette Mann, and Anette Jamison.
Irene was a longtime resident of Milford, NH before she and her husband recently moved to Greenville, NH. She was a member of the River of Life Church in Amherst, and the Burns Hill Church in Milford. Irene was a homemaker, a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother. Irene was amazingly talented at sewing, baking, and cake decorating. She loved gardening, growing large gardens of vegetables, herbs and flower beds. She had a passion to serve those in need within her church family, her friends, and her community. Irene’s last words to her daughter, Janet, were, “No matter how different people are from you, always love them.” This is a testament to how she lived her life. She showed kindness and love to everyone she met.
Irene is survived by her husband of 23 years, Frederick V. Galante Jr., her four children and their spouses, Robert Jodoin and Amy of Derry, NH, Michael Jodoin and Susan of Vinton, VA, Janet Jodoin and Glenn Wallace of Gardner, MA, Roger Jodoin and Debbie of Wesley Chapel, FL and stepdaughter, Erica Galante of Fall River, MA, her thirteen grandchildren, Tyler, Timothy, Amanda, Maggie, Jeremy, Steven, Leah, Robert, Kayla, Camella, Sarah, Laurel, and Caleb, and one great-grandchild, Lakin, her sister, Evelyn Austin of Nashua NH, her brother, Raymond Duhamel of New Ipswich, NH, two sisters-in-laws, Loretta Pierce of Weymouth MA, Judy Nelson of Weymouth, MA, one brother-in-law, Mark Galante of Exeter, NH, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Irene’s church family and her friends for all their support during Irene’s illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 12th at 10 AM at the River of Life Church, 9 101A Amherst, NH.
