Louis E. Rousseau, 93, of New Ipswich, NH, passed away with his son by his side, on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, in Jaffrey, NH. He was born on February 28, 1925, in Quebec, Canada, the son of Honore and Marie Anne (Cayer) Rousseau.
Louis worked as a fixer in the maintenance department of the Fitchburg Woolen Mills. He was known as a loving family man who enjoyed helping people. The most important things to him were his family, home and working. He was a resident of both Greenville, NH, and New Ipswich, NH, for quite some time. He lost his beloved wife, Aurora (Charrois) Rousseau, in 2003, and his loving son, Paul Rousseau, in 2012.
Louis is survived by his son, Ronald Rousseau, of New Ipswich, NH; his brothers, Joseph Rousseau, of Lancaster, PA, Henry and his wife, Helene Rousseau, of Montreal, Canada, and Andy and his wife, Claire Rousseau, of Peterborough, NH; his sisters, Sister Theresa Rousseau, of Lexington, MA, and Monique Fafard, of New Ipswich, NH; his grandchildren, Jessica and her husband, Matt Goonan, of New Boston, NH, Tanya and her husband, Ben Crosby, of New Ipswich, NH, and Neil Rousseau of New Ipswich, NH; and his great-grandchildren, Colton Crosby and Eve Goonan. He is predeceased by his wife Aurora Rousseau, his son Paul Rousseau, and his brothers, Conrad Rousseau and Jerry Rousseau.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial donations to be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society, 15 High St, Greenville, NH, 03048.
Friends and family are warmly welcome to a service at the Sacred Heart Church, 15 High Street, Greenville, NH, on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 10 am, followed by a graveside service at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, in New Ipswich, NH.
