Renate also had many years of restaurant service at Parker’s Maple Barn in Mason, Old Railroad Station Snack Bar, and Yankee Doodler Restaurant in Brookline. She belonged to the Lyndeborough Gatherers Club, and had also served as their treasurer and was a longtime volunteer for MADD. Renate enjoyed spending her time gardening, bird watching, baking, canning jams, crocheting, reading, making red cabbage, traveling, and shopping. Her favorite places to travel were Iceland and Germany. She loved taking family trips to Maine and the Cape.
